With no prior experience in the construction industry, I felt a lot of uncertainty during my job search—especially with a young child at home. What left a lasting impression on me was how supportive and understanding everyone at COLABO was during my interview. After joining, I started in an administrative role. As the workflow became clearer, a strong desire to take the next step began to grow. After sharing this with my manager, my aspirations were recognized and I transferred to my current department, where I became involved from the very start of projects, gaining deeper exposure to the process of bringing a building together from the ground up. Seeing the first building I contributed to fully completed is a moment I still vividly remember to this day.
Being seconded to different teams to provide drawing-related support is also part of my job. Before joining COLABO, I had no experience working with drawings in AutoCAD. When first using it, I couldn’t even draw a single line, but with guidance from senior colleagues, I gradually built my skills and confidence over time.

Coordinating schedules between construction sites and fabrication shops is a key part of my role. From steel fabrication through on-site delivery, I work closely with both sides to keep the process running smoothly and aligned with the plan. While the construction site may request that materials be delivered by a certain date, the fabrication shop has its own processing sequence designed to ensure efficiency. Finding the best balance between the two is a challenge, but also one of the most rewarding aspects of the job. When coordination efforts pay off and the delivery goes as planned, receiving thanks from both sides almost always gives a real sense of accomplishment.
What makes this work especially engaging is that there’s no single right answer. Professionals from different perspectives sharing ideas during meetings often lead to unexpected solutions and new insights, keeping the work dynamic and full of learning opportunities.

At COLABO, being inexperienced doesn’t mean there are limits to what you can take on. Even if you’re unsure about something, there’s always someone ready to guide you. One of the things I appreciate most about COLABO is the flexibility to work in a way that fits your life stage. I use the flextime system to leave early on certain days to match my child’s schedule, allowing me to balance both family life and career growth without compromise.
Monthly one-on-one meetings with my manager give me the opportunity to share the challenges I want to tackle and discuss my ideal growth path. It’s an environment where everyone can develop at their own pace, and even as a working mom, I don’t have to put my career on hold—COLABO makes that possible.
Recently, I’ve had more opportunities to mentor junior colleagues. I focus on matching their pace rather than my own, adjusting my guidance to their understanding and experience.My goal is to be a mentor they can truly rely on, helping them grow just as I’ve been supported in my own journey.
