General Manager of Corporate Planning Department

After beginning his career at a steel fabrication plant, Kuramoto joined COLABO mid-career. As a manager, he directs complex projects while also focusing on mentoring younger members and building internal training programs.

Create the future with an open mind. Person
Keep Evolving. Create value for everyone we work with.

Action comes first. Redefine the industry at speed.

Our work goes far beyond organizing drawings. Bringing a steel structure to life requires close collaboration among general contractors, designers, and fabrication partners. At the center of this process, we help guide projects forward, keeping every phase aligned from concept to construction.
What surprised me most after joining COLABO was the speed. With new challenges every year and constant updates to how we work, the pace is incredibly dynamic. The days are so full and fast-moving that, honestly, it sometimes feels like a few years pass in the blink of an eye—each one filled with new experiences, new challenges, and opportunities to grow.
Unlike the traditional environment I experienced previously, COLABO values a flexible mindset where action comes first. The fabrication management framework we launched this year, for example, was built step by step through hands-on effort. Rather than simply following established practices, we actively reshape them—and in doing so, shape our own growth as well.
As the company evolves, so do the opportunities to expand your capabilities. That forward momentum is what makes working at COLABO truly compelling.

Surpass Expectations. Build Trust.

Most of our projects begin with no prior relationship with the client, that’s why we always aim to surpass expectations—in a positive way. For example, we voluntarily prepare detailed meeting minutes that others might avoid, and we step beyond the scope of steel structures to propose solutions for connection details involving walls and elevators. By consistently going the extra mile—sometimes to the point where clients even say, “You went that far for us?”—trust naturally grows. Of course, guiding a project to success is rewarding in itself—but there are other satisfying moments as well. One is when our clients receive strong recognition within their own organizations. The precision and care we bring to our work contribute to their success, and in some cases, this leads to new project opportunities. Rather than pursuing only our own benefit, we strive to create value for everyone involved. This mindset continues to strengthen our unique position within the steel construction industry.

No seniority in challenges. Higher expectations drive greater growth.

As a manager, one thing I always keep in mind when assigning work to team members is to set slightly higher expectations. I believe that meaningful growth comes from success through real challenges. By understanding each person’s strengths and areas for improvement, I encourage them to push further and deliver results beyond expectations. When they do, I feel even more proud than when achieving something myself. We place strong emphasis on internal training, held roughly once every two months, so everyone can steadily step up. At COLABO, there is no concept of seniority. The desire to take on challenges is always encouraged, and those with initiative can continue to grow their careers. Here, you will work with professionals from diverse backgrounds and gain knowledge across the broader field of construction while staying true to yourself, creating an environment where the next generation of specialists can truly grow.
